Effectively designing for Generative AI and LLM

As Artificial Intelligence continues to evolve, many companies are exploring how to integrate Generative AI into their software solutions. However, many companies struggle to find clear use cases due to unknown accuracy. The accuracy of AI highly depends on the human input, i.e. the ability to write good prompts. Often projects fail as the implementation does not fit the user and enterprise context or the drawbacks of generative AI are not taken into account. At Bright Cape, our Human Data Interaction (HDI) consultants can help you create value by leveraging the full potential of AI in your enterprise software. In this blog post, we focus on overcoming challenges in designing Large Language Models (LLM) for enterprise solutions.

How manufacturing analytics improves root cause analysis

In previous blogs, we’ve described how manufacturing analytics can help companies achieve operational excellence through data and AI technologies. A closely related discipline in the manufacturing context is root cause analysis.    Root cause analysis (RCA) is the quality management process by which an organisation searches for the root cause of a problem, issue or incident after it has occurred. Manufacturing analytics and RCA techniques are closely related, with manufacturing analytics often serving as a key enabler for effective RCA in manufacturing environments.   Manufacturing analytics provides large amounts of data from sensors, machines, production lines and other systems that can be used to identify patterns and correlations that may not be apparent using traditional RCA methods. By analysing trends, anomalies and…

How manufacturing analytics solutions can boost profitability and sustainability

In the never-ending quest for profitability, operations managers are always looking for new tools and strategies to stay ahead of the competition. One such solution is manufacturing analytics-a powerful weapon in your toolkit for uncovering hidden insights, streamlining operations and reducing costs. But what exactly do manufacturing analytics solutions entail, and how does it improve profitability? In this blog, we take a closer look.

7 essential steps for a successful end-to-end path to Manufacturing Analytics implementation

Manufacturing analytics is a powerful data-driven methodology that can help you uncover the cost drivers in your operations. In one of our previous blogs, you can read more about how to uncover these cost drivers with the help of manufacturing analytics. However, practice tells us that a staggering 87% of analytics projects in the industry fail to deliver the expected value to the business. They end up in pilot purgatory. One of the primary reasons manufacturing analytics projects fail is the misconception that simply investing money or implementing technology will guarantee success. This approach is not sufficient to achieve the desired results. The other key player is data, which is a double-edged sword – it’s what makes all these analytics…

How to determine the cost drivers in your value chain

In manufacturing, operational executives play a critical role in overseeing and managing the overall, aggregated day-to-day operations. However, in the dynamic nature of manufacturing, it’s easy to get caught up in looking for high-level trends and optimization opportunities to improve overall profitability, when the real insights are often in the granular details. In this blog, we will explain why developing a data-driven bottom-up approach to understanding cost drivers in operations can lead you to unexpected insights to improve profitability.

How to achieve Operational Excellence in Manufacturing with Analytics

The drive for efficiency, profitability, and sustainability is at the heart of every manufacturing operation. But in today’s rapidly changing landscape, many challenges often stand in the way of success, requiring innovative solutions and fresh approaches to problem solving. Imagine you’re an operations executive navigating turbulent water. Fluctuating energy prices disrupt your budget, sudden market shifts demand quick adjustments, and a skills shortage requires a reevaluation of hiring strategies. In addition, the growing burden of regulatory compliance consumes valuable time from your operations team.

From Synapse to Fabric: Navigating the Data Platform Transition

In May 2023, Microsoft introduced its new data platform called Microsoft Fabric. With the introduction of Microsoft Fabric, the support for Azure Synapse as a standalone solution will gradually be phased out. In this blog post we offer a comprehensive overview of this development and its implications, as well as a comparison with the alternatives.    Microsoft introduced Fabric as an end-to-end analytics platform. It brings together various data analytics, science, and engineering technologies into a single platform. It integrates existing solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse and Power BI. Additionally, it introduces a unified storage solution called OneLake. What OneDrive is for files, OneLake is for data. OneLake is built on top of the existing Azure Data Lake…

How to use Process Mining to create value: insights and takeaways from Celonis World Tour 2023

Bright Cape attended the Celonis World Tour 2023 in Amsterdam, a roadshow bringing together industry leaders, business titans, and the world’s top experts in Process Mining and execution management. It was an amazing event and an opportunity to chat with old colleagues, current customers, bump into familiar faces and meet new ones. This day was a great moment for discussing visions on Process Mining, reflect on everyone’s individual Process Mining journey, and, most importantly, sharing the successes we achieve and some struggles we might have in common.  The lineup of keynote speakers was spread across different industries, e.g. banking & finance, telecommunication, life-science, and healthcare, showing the diversity of environments where Process Mining can be applied and its agility to adapt to multiple specific cases when it comes to creating value…

ABN AMRO’s secret to E2E Process Improvement & Value Creation

One of our most recent success stories is ABN AMRO, one of the largest banks in the Netherlands. Over the previous 4 years, we have provided data-driven insights into the E2E processes and operations by implementing Celonis as a Process mining analysis tool. In this specific project, we used Celonis to help identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, leading to more streamlined processes, increased efficiency, and better customer experiences in return. To show you why you should use Process mining in your own organization, we want to take you on a journey, in which we give more detail through the ABN AMRO use case.

Efficiency + Sustainability = Performance

Bright Cape was present at the Amsterdam stop of the 2022 Celonis World Tour, a roadshow bringing together industry leaders, business titans, and the world’s top experts in process mining and execution management. And as we prepare to attend Celosphere 2022 in  Munich, Germany, we want to look back on our attendance, partnership, and learnings during the Celonis World Tour 2022. We caught up with Menno van Eersel, one of our Data Scientists, for a retrospect about his attendance at said event. This day was all about sharing experiences and successes, discussing visions on process mining, and connecting to clients and other process mining enthusiasts.
