Aad completed the master’s program in Data Science & Entrepreneurship at the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS). During his studies he worked as a freelance Data Scientist but he also worked at a company specialized in artificial intelligence where he, additionally, wrote his thesis on the use of federated learning for a data science project. After his studies, Aad gained experience as a data scientist and engineer at an IT service provider. There he was responsible for performing and improving data migrations. In January 2023, we welcomed Aad to Bright Cape as a Data Engineer. In his spare time, Aad likes to listen to podcasts as well as music. He also enjoys going out for a drink with friends.

Bente Derks.

Bente has a background in Industrial Engineering and completed her master’s in Data Science & Entrepreneurship. Since joining Bright Cape in 2021, she has grown into the role of Senior Data Engineer. She has gained extensive experience in building data solutions in Azure, such as developing data products, setting up a ‘Single Source of Truth,’ and creating dashboards for better insights. Bente has worked with clients like ASML, Argenta, and Lumens. In her free time, she enjoys playing football, attending festivals, and reading a good book.

Boaz Roijers began his career studying Architecture at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he later completed a master’s in Building Physics. During his master’s, he discovered his passion for data and used his thesis to further develop this interest. His strengths lie in machine learning, data analysis, data visualization, and forecasting, and he excels at communicating his findings effectively. At Bright Cape, Boaz applies his analytical skills as a Junior Data Scientist. In his free time, Boaz can often be found at the gym or on his road bike. He enjoys learning, whether by reading informative books, building websites, or analyzing financial markets.

Bram is Partner at Bright Cape. He has a background in Business Administration & Management and Logistic Management. Bram is a hands-on professional. He is a successful decision-maker and creative problem solver with deep knowledge of change management, risk management, and business development. His extensive international experience in managing and restructuring companies in the financial sector, and delivering and implementing vision and strategy, make Bram a valuable asset to our team. Bram enjoys his children and family to the fullest. He also enjoys sports, fitness, and travel.

Cas completed his bachelor’s in Psychology and Technology, followed by a master’s in Data Science & Entrepreneurship, a collaboration between the Eindhoven and Tilburg universities. With four years of experience as a data engineer at a SAP consultancy, he brings valuable skills and expertise to our team. At Bright Cape, Cas focuses on developing and optimizing data solutions that enhance our clients’ success. In his spare time, Cas is often on the volleyball court with Spirit in Rosmalen, both indoors and on the sand in summer. He enjoys the vibrant life in Den Bosch, where he lives with his partner. Cas also loves cooking, solving puzzles, and taking the occasional group fitness class.

Dalí joined Bright Cape as a Senior Data Engineer. He graduated from Tilburg University with a bachelor’s in International Business Administration and subsequently, he finished his master’s study in Innovation Management at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He also completed a data science traineeship with great success. He gained working experience as a Business Translator, Analyst, and Data Engineer within the KYC department at a well-renowned Dutch bank. Dalí is strategic, entrepreneurial, and a problem-solver by nature. He combines these skills with his analytical capabilities and hands-on approach and uses data science to realize continued improvement for himself and the entire team. Dali is fond of bouldering and sports holidays. He is also learning Croatian. Furthermore, he loves to bake bread and get the party started on the dancefloor!

Dorine joined Bright Cape in 2020. Her experience as an Office Manager and her work in the field of HR and Finance (back office) make her a true asset to our company. In addition, Dorine also provides support for some Marketing & Sales related events. In her free time, Dorine enjoys going for walks with her two Golden Retrievers, watching (fantasy) movies, going out for dinner with friends, or reading a book now and then. Board games are also one of her favorite leisure activities with her family or friends.

Ionuț Barbu.

Ionuț is Lead of the Data Science Competence at Bright Cape. He holds a master’s degree in Applied Physics from the Eindhoven University of Technology. He brings broad industry experience having worked for an independent research organization and one of the world’s leading suppliers of the semiconductor industry. Ionuț also gained global experience in the process industries and pharmaceuticals where he helped companies optimize operations in the manufacturing and supply chain sector through data-driven initiatives. In his free time, Ionuț enjoys boxing, Latin American dancing, catching up with friends, and a good cup of tea.

Irene successfully completed her bachelor’s degree in Communication and master’s degree in Cognitive Science & Artificial Intelligence. In her previous job, she learned the principles of process mapping and process optimization. At Bright Cape, she would like to expand this skill and become more data-driven. Also, Irene would like to further develop her analytical and programming skills. Irene is excited to put her ‘social’ skills gained during her bachelor’s studies into practice by working with clients and creating added value. A pop star in the making, that’s Irene! She is in the process of teaching herself to play the guitar and has also recently purchased a keyboard. She hopes to soon buy one of those ‘loop’ machines to record music and sing along with it, although she admits to not really being a singer. Moreover, Irene loves board games very much; the more difficult/extensive the game, the more she likes it.

Ittai has a background in biomedical sciences and completed his doctoral research at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the field of precision medicine and rheumatology. Here he developed his affinity for data through a strong focus on bioinformatics and genetic research. As a data scientist, he has experience in setting up sensor platforms in sports/kinematics and health and translating complex data into practical insights for athletes. Ittai has helped several start-ups grow in the data field, with a strong focus on customer-related data problems. With his broad background in science, data science and start-ups/business, Ittai started in Feb. 2024 to support Bright Cape clients and solve their data issues. In his spare time, Ittai is a player/coach of his baseball team. In nice weather, he enjoys riding motorcycles and working on his bonsai trees and vegetable garden.

Jasper studied Industrial Engineering at TU and completed a master’s degree at JADS in Den Bosch. He joined Bright Cape as a Senior Data Analyst in February 2022. With his expertise in process optimization, data storytelling, and visualization, he has contributed to various projects for clients such as ASML, the Tax and Customs Administration, Alliander, and Univé. Jasper excels at translating complex data into clear insights that help businesses improve their processes. In his spare time, he plays guitar (also in a band), piano, enjoys padel and football, and loves cooking. “If you do something, do it well” is his motto.

Jean Luc Oudshoorn.

JeanLuc Oudshoorn began his career journey with a master’s degree in Political Economy at Leiden University, where his interest in data analysis was sparked. Fascinated by the insights that data can offer, he expanded his skills through courses in statistics and data science. He then completed a second master’s in Business Analytics & Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam. After this, he worked as a data scientist for a year and a half, where he developed a genetic algorithm to optimize container loading and dispatch timing for major brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. At Bright Cape, JeanLuc is excited to apply his expertise to new data-driven projects. In his free time, he enjoys fitness, learning languages, and following financial markets. His motto? “Approach every challenge from different perspectives.

Jef has been a key player at Bright Cape since 2019, after first getting to know the team during his graduation internship. With a background in Industrial Engineering and a master’s in Operations Management and Logistics from TU/e, Jef has gained broad experience in data science, analytics, engineering, and process mining. As Team Lead Data Science and Senior Data Science Consultant, he is a true all-rounder, capable of managing projects from start to finish. He contributed to projects for ASML and Argenta, working on an Azure implementation, a ConQ Forecasting tool, and an Action Card. In his free time, Jef is a passionate triathlete, a dedicated NAC supporter, the office’s resident DJ, and enjoys the good life.

Joana completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and her Master’s degree in Information Systems Management and Business Informatics. In September 2022 she joined Bright Cape as a Data Analyst. With her bachelor’s, Joana got critical and logical thinking and with her master’s she learned about her passion for interpreting and extracting meaning from data. During her master’s thesis, she learned about and applied process mining, which is one of Bright Cape’s key areas of expertise. In her free time, Joana loves to read, travel, and go to concerts and stand-up comedy shows. She also tries to incorporate yoga into her schedule as a daily habit and has plans to take salsa lessons.

João has a background in Electrical and Computers Engineering. Throughout his studies and his short career, data has always been at the center: from data engineering to data science and process mining. Before joining BrightCape João worked for the Process Mining Center of Excellence (CoE) of a renowned German automotive company, where he had the opportunity to work on various projects in all corners of the company, from production to finance and procurement. Traveling is what João enjoys the most of all in life, so it’s something he  tries to do as much as possible. He also enjoys doing sports often, padel and bouldering to name a few.

Joost has a background in Industrial Product Design and a Master’s in Data Science. Since joining Bright Cape in 2019, he has increasingly specialized in Data Engineering. With his experience in projects for clients such as DAF, ASML, Argenta, and Rabobank, Joost has further developed his technical skills in areas such as data ingestion, transformations, and building data pipelines in cloud environments like Azure and Databricks. His broad expertise in logistics and banking sectors proves valuable across various client projects. Outside of work, Joost enjoys traveling the world, supporting Willem II, attending football matches, playing padel, and spending time with family and friends.

Joris has a background in Information Science and Business Informatics, with additional studies in innovation and IT management at Utrecht University. He has been with Bright Cape since 2021, first as a Process Mining Consultant and now as a Data Analyst. Joris combines his expertise in project management and data analysis to develop impactful solutions, such as digital analytics for energy management in the manufacturing industry and the Celonis migration at a major financial institution. He has also supported organizations in sustainability and social impact measurement. Joris contributed to projects at Lumens, Swinkels, EIT and APG. In his free time, he enjoys playing padel (also with colleagues), watching sports, and experimenting in the kitchen.

Katrin Kostova.

Katrin has a study background in Applied Mathematics (BCs) and Business Analytics (MSc). She started with us as graduation intern in 2020, using computer vision to develop an image segmentation model to be used in fashion stores. After graduating and gaining some work experience she decided to continue her career at Bright Cape as a Data Scientist. After completing multiple projects in diverse domains and using different techniques, she realized that her passion is very much centered around data-driven process improvements! Katrin is one of the pillars in the development of the Bright Cape process mining competence. As of the start of 2022, Katrin has been promoted to Senior Process Mining Consultant. In her spare time, Katrin loves to travel, exercise and cook vegetarian meals at her home in Amsterdam.

Laurens received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a master’s degree in Operations Management & Logistics from the Eindhoven University of Technology. During his studies he primarily focused on applying AI and Machine Learning techniques to logistical problems. During his thesis, Laurens researched how to automate resource allocation in transportation networks by means of various solution methods. In particular, he investigated the effectiveness of a novel Deep Reinforcement Learning algorithm for this purpose. In February 2024, Laurens started as a Process Mining Consultant at Bright Cape. In his spare time, Laurens likes to play sports such as field hockey, bouldering, and fitness. He also enjoys reading and scouring bookshops for new additions to his bookshelf. In the weekends, he often take the time to try out some new recipes.

Leon Boeren recently completed his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Technology, specializing in microfluidics—a technology that simplifies the study of complex biological processes. During his studies, he discovered his interest in the connection between technology and business processes, which motivated him to join Bright Cape as a Process Mining Working Student. Here, he applies his analytical skills to optimize processes and generate valuable insights. Starting in February 2025, Leon will begin his master’s in Data Science in Business & Entrepreneurship. In his free time, Leon can often be found at the gym and likes to go to the cinema.

Lindsey van der Lans.

Lindsey has been appointed Managing Director of Bright Cape as of 1 December 2022. She has been with Bright Cape since 2019. Lindsey started as a consultant, then became team lead, then manager of the Human Data Interaction Consultants and most recently responsible for People & Development. She has a study background in Cognitive Psychology (MSc.) and in User System Interaction (PDEng) and she finds it incredibly cool to apply the combination of these studies. Her ultimate goal is to look at how to find the best data solution for a person within the right context. This results in process or service optimization or product improvement or initiation. As Managing Director, in addition to continuing to lead the human data interaction consultants, Lindsey will also be responsible for keeping the ship on course: from HR procedures to recruitment, marketing, training & development, IT infrastructure, sustainability, and more. In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys running, gravel biking, yoga, and traveling.

Lucas has a background in Medical Engineering specializing in systems biology and machine learning. During his master’s degree and his time as a Research Scientist, Lucas was inspired by the power of machine learning and was convinced to continue in the field of data science in his professional career. Lucas has been involved in implementing, advising, and developing machine learning models for a diverse number of (clinical) academic studies.  Additionally, he was responsible for developing web-based applications for pre-processing data pipelines, followed by various machine learning methods and data visualization. As of January 2023, Lucas started working as a Data Scientist at Bright Cape. His leisure activities include skiing, playing piano, golf, and sailing.

Lucia Onen-can earned her bachelor’s in Econometrics and Operations Research, followed by a master’s in Business Analytics and Operations Research at Tilburg University. Her studies focused on optimizing complex business processes and enhancing management decisions through data analysis and statistical techniques. In August 2024, she began her career at Bright Cape as a Data Scientist, where she applies her skills in Python, MATLAB, SQL, and R to create valuable insights for clients. In her free time, Lucia enjoys playing tennis, trying out padel, traveling, spending time with friends, and attending festivals. Her motto? “You will not know unless you try.”

Luuk studied Mechanical Engineering complemented by Business Administration. He is a Partner at Bright Cape and does not shy away from substantive challenges. With Luuk, quality always comes first. Together with the other partners, he monitors Bright Cape’s long-term strategy and tries to achieve a distinctive position in the market. They do this by offering great Data Science solutions for great clients on the one hand, and by being a good and interesting employer for our people on the other. In his leisure time, Luuk likes to travel with his family. He also enjoys entrepreneurship, skiing, golfing, spinning, and sports. Recently, Luuk has also been trying to learn to play the piano.

With a background in Industrial Engineering and a master’s in Industrial & Applied Mathematics from TU/e, Marieke brings a lot of data science experience to Bright Cape. In the 3+ years she has been part of our team, she has contributed to various projects, such as optimizing supply chains with digital twins, developing predictive models for production costs, and implementing process mining in the banking sector. Marieke combines strong analytical skills with project and stakeholder management to create customized solutions. Her expertise spans supply chain, transport, manufacturing, banking, and energy sectors. In her free time, she enjoys rowing through the canals of Eindhoven, cycling, and experimenting in the kitchen. Her motto: “Start small, think big.”

It was quickly clear to Menno that he wanted to grow further in the field of data after earning his bachelor’s degree in Econometrics from Tilburg University and his master’s degree in Industrial & Applied Mathematics from TU Eindhoven. Born and raised in Brabant (mid/south of the Netherlands), but now living above the rivers, (Amsterdam area), the southern atmosphere at Bright Cape immediately appealed to him.  As a Data Engineer, Menno enjoys creating reliable and scalable data infrastructures that support data-driven work for our clients. When Menno is not at work behind his laptop, you will most likely find him running or biking along, or swimming in the Amstel River. Menno loves to challenge himself and has therefore finished his first triathlon.

Mirle has a background in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence and obtained her master’s degree in Data Science and Entrepreneurship at JADS in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. She joined Bright Cape in 2022 and has since worked on projects for organizations such as DLL and ABN in the financial sector. Her experience includes mapping internal processes, standardizing KPI measurements, and implementing process mining to improve operational efficiency. Mirle’s strength lies in creating structure and strategy to help companies work in a more data-driven way. Outside of work, she runs her own business, fonqellab, where she offers personal color analysis. She also enjoys playing padel or spending time with friends at a sunny terrace or festival.

Muhan (Judy) Liu.

Muhan completed her bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence technology in China. During the last year of her bachelor’s, she did a study exchange to Estonia. This gave her the opportunity to go abroad. Muhan completed her master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Trento in Italy, after which she transferred to the University of Twente in the Netherlands to continue her studies and write her master’s thesis. Muhan likes qualitative research and enjoys finding insights/problems through user interviews and workshops. She also enjoys finding solutions and being problem-solving-oriented. Muhan is musically inclined. In the past, she played the violin and drums and taught herself to play the guitar. In the future, she may want to explore a new instrument. Besides music, Muhan enjoys traveling, good food, and learning new languages. She is looking forward to learning Dutch.

With over seven years of experience as a data analyst, Nicky specializes in transforming complex data into strategic insights. His expertise spans data analysis, visualization and storytelling, as well as developing data-driven strategies tailored to the unique needs of each client. At Bright Cape, Nicky is dedicated to helping our clients uncover growth opportunities and achieve measurable results through innovative data solutions. In his free time, Nicky enjoys taekwon-do, gaming, traveling, and cooking. Thanks to his wife from Barcelona, he’s fluent in Spanish and well-acquainted with Spanish culture.

Niek joined Bright Cape as Controller and, in addition to his work, is studying accountancy & controlling at Nyenrode Business University. Before that, he successfully completed his Entrepreneurship & Retail management education. Niek gained work experience as a document controller and since then his interest has continued to grow in ensuring that companies are in control. Niek is accurate, concrete, honest, curious, and has an eye for detail; skills that he can put to good use in his current position at Bright Cape. In his spare time, Niek likes to watch soccer, and during winter sports vacations you can find him in the mountains! He also enjoys dining out and going on trips with family and friends.

Meet Oriana Ferrari, our new Human Data Interaction Consultant at Bright Cape. Oriana has completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Design at TU Eindhoven, where she focused on the entire design process with a strong emphasis on user experience. Her experience as a researcher at TU/e, analyzing data on human-robot interactions, and as a UX designer and aspiring product owner in a small company, enables her to provide valuable insights. Oriana’s role at Bright Cape is centered around optimizing interactions to help users tackle everyday challenges more easily. In her free time, Oriana enjoys riding her horse in the woods, dancing, attending festivals, and traveling the world. She also loves spending time with friends and diving into a good book.

After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Technology, Pam completed her master’s degree in Human-Technology Interaction at the Eindhoven University of Technology. “How can data make people’s lives easier or better? And vice versa: how can we leverage human knowledge to better understand and use data more purposefully?” In that dichotomy lies her interest, which she explored while studying Human-Technology Interaction; knowledge and skills that she can put to good use in her current position at Bright Cape. Pam believes it is essential to put people first when working with data solutions. She is an optimistic and inquisitive person and is always open to new perspectives and ideas. Pam approaches cool, new (Human Data Interaction) challenges with passion! She likes to cook and basically everything related to food. Pam also loves singing, going to festivals, and exploring the world with her backpack.

With a master’s degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from TU/e and a joint bachelor’s in Data Science from TU/e and Tilburg University, Patrick Bastiaanssen brings a strong academic foundation to Bright Cape. After 1.5 years as a working student at Bright Cape, where he worked on projects like Include and SenseAnywhere, he continued with a graduation internship at ASML. There, he developed a visualization tool and a crack detection algorithm for the Van Gogh Museum, helping restorers inspect paintings before they are transported to exhibitions or other museums. Now back at Bright Cape as a Data Analyst, Patrick applies his passion for creating value from data. In his free time, he enjoys underwater hockey, powerlifting, and good food.

Paul Veendrick.

Paul has been appointed Managing Director of Sales & Business Development at Bright Cape as of 1 December 2022. He joined us in September 2021 as Commercial Manager. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Master’s degree in Industrial Management, Paul held various senior positions abroad and within the banking industry. In addition, he was responsible for the development and implementation of sustainability strategies. Paul believes that companies that dare to invest in their “data maturity” are more future-proof, can anticipate market changes faster and even realize competitive advantage. As Managing Director of Sales & Business Development, Paul will be responsible for realizing the sales strategy, identifying market trends and determining commercial opportunities that contribute to Bright Cape’s growth. In his free time, Paul enjoys active vacations with his family and coaching his daughters who play hockey. He also enjoys running with his dog or playing a game of tennis or Padel. Furthermore, Paul can regularly be found in Eindhoven or enjoying himself during soccer games in the stands of PSV.

Pieter van den Tillaart.

Pieter is an enthusiastic entrepreneurial finance professional with experience in international settings of multinationals and running various companies as an entrepreneur (start-up & scale-up). For Bright Cape, Pieter is involved in several customer-driven projects for process improvement based on data science and (innovative) customer value creation. His background as a business engineer in combination with a Financial Management master and post-master Register Controller, together with his experience with M&A, IPO as a consultant, and CFO, are a true asset for Bright Cape in taking our company to the next level. In his spare time, Pieter likes to be a (business) sparring partner. He also enjoys skiing, CrossFit, and sports coaching. Pieter also has a passion for travel & cultural dynamics.

Remco has a background in Industrial Engineering and obtained two master’s degrees from TU/e: Operations Management and Logistics and Business Information Systems. Since 2018, he has been part of Bright Cape, where he works as a Senior Data Scientist, focusing on developing and implementing data-driven solutions. His expertise lies primarily in the manufacturing industry, where he adds value by transforming data into concrete improvements. In his free time, he enjoys playing football and tennis, following American football, attending music festivals, and exploring new destinations.

Roy Roosen.

Roy studied Business Administration and is a Co-founder/Investor at Bright Cape. He combines optimism with determination and likes a little competition. He certainly doesn’t shy away from complex challenges. Left or right, Roy always sees opportunities. Think, dare, do and keep going! The perfect attitude to set the strategic dot on the horizon together with us and then, above all, letting go. In his free time, Roy enjoys skiing, cooking, and spending time with his family. He is also really into cars, especially classic cars are his preference. You can certainly also make him happy with a visit to a classic car rally.

Ruud Zandbergen.

Ruud holds a Masters in Human Factors & Engineering Psychology and a PDEng in User System Interaction. He joined Bright Cape as a Senior Human Data Interaction Consultant and Team Lead of our HDI Consultants. He brings with him 7 years of experience as a UX specialist for an IT consultancy, always focused on Enterprise UX. During his consulting work, Ruud saw how important data is and the need to make data solutions understandable and actionable for users to leverage the full power of data. Ruud is skilled in design thinking, interaction design, user research, workshop facilitation, creativity training, design strategy, and change management. Skills that will undoubtedly come in handy here at Bright Cape as he focuses on optimizing business processes by finding a balance between technology, business value, and user needs. In his spare time, Ruud enjoys playing (beach) volleyball, traveling and hiking.

With a background in Computer Science and Engineering from TU/e, Sako Arts played a key role in establishing the first Data Science programs in the Netherlands, in collaboration with Tilburg University and JADS. After completing research at Philips in Eindhoven and New York on the medical applications of Deep Learning, Sako set up a Data Science department at Wolfpack. He then founded FruitPunch AI, a global platform that brings AI experts together to solve societal challenges. 

Sako now brings his expertise to Bright Cape to drive technology and innovation forward. In his free time, he enjoys Raspberry Pi projects, mountain biking, and a beer in the sun, always on the lookout for new challenges.

Sam has a background in Communication and Information Sciences and over seven years of experience in data and UX design. Since 2021, he has been working at Bright Cape as a Senior Human Data Interaction Consultant. By combining methods from User Experience design with data and visualization, he develops user-friendly solutions that add value for both businesses and users. Sam has contributed to projects for Rabobank, ABN AMRO, ASML, and Royal Swinkels. With his broad expertise, he bridges the gap between business, IT, designers, and end users. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, padel, and traveling. Additionally, he organizes BoeCult, an annual culture and music festival with over ten thousand visitors.

Sana van den Brink-Shahsavari is currently studying Innovation Management after completing her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. During her studies, she gained valuable skills such as stakeholder management, problem identification, and leadership, which she is now applying in her graduation research at Bright Cape. Within the data analytics department, she is conducting research that contributes to both the team and the organization. In her free time, Sana plays the piano, sings, and sometimes creates her own songs. She also enjoys playing basketball. Her motto: “Let’s do things in a new and better way, but let’s also consider the impact on the people.”

Serge is our founding partner. He believes that dreams can become reality; that you can make something out of nothing. Bright Cape, for example, was created in 2014 because of the feeling that the gap between science and reality could be closed through applicable and scalable solutions with data engineering. Serge has a background in Industrial Engineering. He is also an organizational scientist. He specializes in finding working (innovative) solutions with an uncomplicated character. At Bright Cape, he focuses on sales, business development, and recruitment. Serge is a family man, loves all kinds of sports, and enjoys spending time outdoors in the mountains or by the sea. And he is definitely a winter sports aficionado; we owe our beloved annual ski trip to him!

Simon has over eight years of experience in data science and optimization. With a background in Econometrics and a master’s degree in Operations Research & Management Science, he has since applied his expertise in various projects within Bright Cape. He played a key role in setting up a Data Science team in shipbuilding, optimized production processes to generate additional revenue, and developed KPI frameworks and planning models. With his knowledge of operations research and supply chain optimization, he helps organizations make data-driven decisions. Simon has contributed to projects for Damen, ASML, Curium and Vereijken Kwekerijen. In his free time, Simon enjoys playing football, skiing, or joining a pub quiz, where his interest in history comes in handy.

Teun van der Heijden.

Teun has been appointed Managing Director Commercial of Bright Cape as of 1 December 2022. He came on board in April 2022 in the position of Commercial Manager. He believes that the combination of people and data can provide a structural and sustainable solution to the challenges ahead. Teun completed the Master of Management Science with a specialization in Strategy & Innovation. In recent years, Teun has worked to improve quality in the financial services industry through the deployment of flexible capacity, the training and development of individuals, and the creation of innovative solutions to everyday industry challenges. As Managing Director Commercial, Teun will be responsible for everything related to sales; from strategy to operations, customer success management and more. In his spare time, Teun enjoys the Burgundian life together with his family. To compensate, he likes to jump on his mountain bike, put on his running shoes or can be found along the soccer field.

Tim joined Bright Cape in December 2022 as a Data Scientist. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and then successfully completed his master’s degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering (an intermediate degree in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering) Tim is energetic, enthusiastic, curious and eager to learn. He looks forward to further deepening and developing the skills and abilities gained during his studies here at Bright Cape. Tim likes bouldering a lot. In addition, he also plays squash and padel and likes sailing and cooking for/with friends.

At Bright Cape, Wienand is responsible for ensuring data quality and developing robust data solutions that support the team. In his free time, Wienand often finds his way to the gym and enjoys listening to music. He firmly believes that “high-quality data is the key to consistent and sustainable insights.”

Willem joined Bright Cape as a Senior Data Analyst in November 2022. He holds a double bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design from the Technical University of Madrid. Willem has working experience in different analytics roles within various industries like energy, logistics, and banking. For his work he enjoys both the technical side of data and the business side, taking every opportunity to learn more about the industry he works in. Besides his work, Willem enjoys any kind of sport, having a drink with friends, and being outside in nature.

With a background in Industrial Design Engineering from TU Delft, Wisse has always been focused on improving the user experience between products and users. After ten years of experience as a user researcher and completing a training as an Analytics Translator, he made the switch to data. As a Competence Lead HDI and Senior HDI Consultant at Bright Cape, Wisse supports engineers in gaining the right insights through user-friendly dashboards, helping them work faster and more efficiently. Wisse also expresses his creative side outside of work: he plays in two bands, enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, plays badminton, and loves hiking in the mountains.

Yiran joined Bright Cape as a Human Data Interaction Consultant. She has a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design and Engineering and a master’s degree in Interaction Technology. Yiran is a creative person. She observes, analyses, designs, thinks, creates, and evaluates. She is enthusiastic about tangible and sensory experiences. Yiran cares about the connection between humans, nature, society, and the ecosystem on earth. She is confident that designing with human aspects and responsibility in mind we will have a positive business impact. In her spare time, she enjoys farming & gardening, working on DIY/handcraft projects, doing yoga, or playing badminton. Yiran also loves to cook and bake, watch films, visit museums, and spend time in nature.
