You are passionate about solving customer challenges and unlocking improvement opportunities through AI and machine learning. You combine strong AI & Machine Learning expertise with a focus on operational excellence and stay up to date with the latest developments in the field. You guide both clients and consultants during projects, while helping shape our AI & Machine Learning competence, propositions, marketing, and sales activities.

Your job is versatile, varying from guiding customers to optimizing their processes during projects, to helping shape the strategy of Bright Cape in developing the Data Science and Consultancy competence.

- You are interested in optimizing complex processes using data, AI & Machine Learning solutions.
- You enjoy translating strategic business goals into valuable AI and machine learning solutions, from identifying the real client need during pre-sales activities to guiding implementation with a multidisciplinary team.
- You want to create user-friendly (data) solutions that satisfy different stakeholders in the finance, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.
- You like combining technical depth with consultancy and stakeholder management.
- You want to work with both multinational and medium-sized clients across sectors such as finance, manufacturing, and logistics.

- You want to coach consultants, improve our ways of working and ensure the team develops the right skills to raise the quality of AI and data science projects.
What is expected of you:
- You are considered an authority in the AI & Machine Learning domain by customers and colleagues.
- You are responsible for the development (vision & delivery) of the AI & Machine Learning competence, such that it supports the strategy of Bright Cape, but most importantly so that it can solve the challenges of the customers:
- You carry responsibility, as a member of the team, for the commercial results of the competence, by actively supporting marketing campaigns and being involved in the sales process to lead the proposal phase
- You manage partnerships that contribute to the success of your competence.
- You monitor market developments and translate this to new services.
- You ensure that within your AI & Machine Learning knowledge stays state-of-the art.
- You seek opportunities for innovation activities and support in the selection and definition of these activities.
- You are accountable, together with the team lead, for team development by leading the development of the training curriculum for colleagues.
- You are accountable, together with the team lead, for client delivery quality and satisfaction with the projects relevant to the competence.
- You give guidance and participate in the execution of projects on (key) customer accounts.
- You maintain relations with customers at the level of senior management and are seen as a valuable sparring partner.
- You participate in seminars/conferences as speaker or visitor.
- You develop standards to increase effectivity and efficiency.

You are:

You have
- Firsthand experience with the full machine learning lifecycle, and applying MLOps practices such as experiment tracking, model registries, CI/CD, versioning, and automated pipelines.
- Firsthand experience with building, deploying, and monitoring agentic AI solutions in production, evaluating models and AI applications for performance, implementing model governance, security, auditability, and human-in-the-loop oversight.
- An educational background in Data Science, (Applied) Mathematics, Physics, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- +/- 8 years of experience with process improvement using AI & Machine Learning
- Experience in developing AI roadmaps and AI strategies for clients.
- Experience in identifying and supporting sales efforts (preferred).
- Been working for an agency/consultancy company (preferred).
You can do!
- Design AI and machine learning solutions from architecture to production: translate business requirements into technical specifications and agile delivery plans.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in Python, SQL, and/or Pyspark.
- Deploy & maintain solutions using Azure services, Databricks, APIs and Docker. Fabric and MS Power Platform is considered an advantage.
- Excellent project & stakeholder Management
- Speak Dutch & English fluently.
